The Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) is a professional doctoral-level pharmacy programme focused on clinical pharmacy, patient care, rational use of medicines, hospital pharmacy, clinical research and pharmacotherapeutics.
At Mahathi College of Pharmacy (Autonomous), the Pharm.D programme aims to develop pharmacy professionals with strong knowledge of medicines and the skills required to participate effectively in patient-centred healthcare.
The programme integrates pharmaceutical sciences, biomedical sciences, clinical pharmacy practice and hospital-based training, enabling students to understand disease conditions, drug therapy and medication-related problems.

ABOUT PHARM.D
Pharm.D is designed to develop pharmacists with an advanced understanding of clinical pharmacy and patient-oriented pharmaceutical care.
Unlike programmes primarily focused on pharmaceutical manufacturing and formulation, Pharm.D places significant emphasis on the clinical application of medicines and medication management.
Students study the relationship between:
Patient → Disease → Diagnosis → Drug Therapy → Monitoring → Therapeutic Outcome
The programme helps students develop skills in evaluating prescriptions, identifying drug-related problems, monitoring drug therapy, providing drug information and supporting the rational use of medicines.
